The summer openings have settled and autumn brought a second wave: a steakhouse in the fastest-changing district in the city, Argentine empanadas a minute from the Planty, the first dedicated gluten-free bakery north of the Old Town, a new coffee roastery in the south, and a milk bar doing a full daily set for 30 zl. Eight openings worth knowing about, each one checked against its live Google listing for address and status in October 2026. Full reviews follow once the kitchens settle; the scores below are Google's early numbers, not ours. For what opened before this, see the summer roundup.
Already open
Honō, Zabłocie 19
A steakhouse in Zabłocie, the post-industrial strip across the river that already has Michelin-listed Korean at Hankki and the city's best Syrian grill. Honō adds the one thing the district was missing, a serious place for beef, and the early Google score is 4.9 from 60 reviews. More of the neighbourhood in our Podgorze guide and on the food map.
Empanaderia Krupnicza, ul. Krupnicza 2
Argentine empanadas and coffee at the Old Town end of Krupnicza, the street that already houses Karma Coffee's roastery. A small counter, a short list of fillings, and a 4.9 from the first 26 reviews. The right stop between the Planty and a morning in Piasek.
Rio, ul. św. Jana 2, Old Town
A reopening rather than a debut. Rio is back as a coffee bar on św. Jana, a few steps off the Main Square, with black coffee, sandwiches modelled on the historic Hawełka menu, and sweets. It carries 265 Google reviews and a 4.6 from its earlier life, so expect a known name with a reset kitchen. Our Old Town cafes guide covers the rest of the ring.
Restauracja Zamęt, ul. Stachowicza 15, Salwator
Contemporary Polish cooking in the Salwator space that used to be Astrid, at the green western edge of the city where the walk up to the Kościuszko Mound begins. Brand new, with a 5.0 from its first ten reviews, which is a small sample and an encouraging one. Salwator has had almost nowhere to eat properly; this changes that.
WOLNA, ul. Szlak 11, gluten-free bakery
A fully gluten-free bakery on Szlak, a short walk north of the Old Town toward Kleparz. Not a bakery with a gluten-free shelf, but one where everything is, which is rare in Krakow. Early Google score of 4.8 from 38 reviews. If you cook around coeliac disease or an intolerance, this is the address to save.
Fruźka, ul. Orzechowa 7, Borek Fałęcki
A cafe with its own coffee roastery in the southern district of Borek Fałęcki, well off the tourist map and carrying a 5.0 from 53 reviews. Worth the tram if you follow roasters; for the central options, our specialty coffee guide has one pick per district.
Bar Mleczyk, ul. Orlińskiego 3, Czyżyny
A new milk bar in Czyżyny, on the way out to Nowa Huta, doing a daily set for 30 zl: soup, a breaded cutlet or bigos, beans, pierogi, dumplings. The format is the traditional one and the price undercuts almost everything in the centre. Google has it at 4.7 from 72 reviews. For the central milk bars, see cheap eats under 30 zl.
Kofteci NEWO, pl. Imbramowski 179, Prądnik Biały
A Turkish grill from a meat producer, out at plac Imbramowski in the north of the city, with a 5.0 from 65 reviews. Köfte is the point. It is a long way from the centre, so it is one for a northern errand rather than a special trip; the kebab and Middle Eastern guide covers the central options.
Announced, not yet confirmed
A cluster of openings is lined up on ul. Skałeczna in Kazimierz, including a Sri Lankan restaurant and a grill concept called Meat&Go. We have not been able to confirm live listings for either, so treat them as announced rather than open. We will add them here once they have doors.
