BiteKrakow exists because most English guides to this city are written from a desk in another country, recycled from each other, and last visited Krakow when the zloty was a different colour. We wanted the other thing: a guide written by people who actually stand in these queues.

The rules are short. Every place we write about, we have visited. Nobody pays to be included, and nobody can pay to be removed, though one bar did ask. Addresses, hours and prices are checked when we publish and rechecked when we update, and each article says when that was. When a place closes or slides, we edit or delete. A guide that flatters everyone is an advertisement, and Krakow has enough of those.

The editor

Cezary Musiał, Czarek to everyone since primary school, edits BiteKrakow and writes most of it. Krakowian, raised partly at his grandmother's stall side at Stary Kleparz, which explains both the tomato opinions and the soft spot for the northern districts. He drinks his coffee black, counts wall sockets out of professional habit, and maintains that the best meal in Krakow costs less than forty zloty.
