There are two kinds of dog-friendly in Krakow. The first is a shrug: your dog may exist near the outdoor tables as long as nobody notices. The second is a water bowl already waiting at the door, a treat from behind the counter, and staff who greet the dog before they greet you. This guide only deals in the second kind.
Every place below has confirmed evidence of genuine welcome: bowls, treats, stated policies, in one case an entire business model. One warning from the research: the beloved Momo on Dietla, a dog-friendly institution for 25 years, closed for good in late 2025, so cross it off your older lists.
Psikawka, the dog cafe
Poland's first cafe built for dogs, and it shows in every detail: two floors with dog beds and toys, water bowls everywhere, a literal dog menu, treats at the counter and an eco pet shop in the corner, all next to the Kleparski Park dog run in Krowodrza. The humans are not an afterthought either: breakfasts, bagels, sweet and savoury waffles, cakes baked on site. If your dog could choose the venue, this would be the choice.
Bruk Cafe, Kleparz
The all-rounder of this list. Five minutes from the main station, specialty coffee, breakfast until noon, and a genuine welcome for dogs in a cafe small enough that the welcome is personal. It is the spot where a dog owner's whole morning works: walk to the Planty, coffee and a cheesecake at Bruk, errands at the Stary Kleparz market, all covered in our Kleparz guide.
Lokator, Kazimierz
A Kazimierz institution: bookstore, independent publishing house and cafe in one, at the foot of the Bernatka footbridge on Mostowa. The sign at the door says pets are welcome and the water bowl beside it proves the sign is not decorative. Browse the shelves with a leash in one hand; the dog gets the bowl, you get one of the best-curated bookshops in southern Poland.
Cafe Pianola, Old Town
The Old Town exception. On Senacka, just off the Royal Road between the Main Square and Wawel, Pianola pours coffee in a sixteenth-century renaissance tenement and greets every dog with a bowl and a treat, a combination the rest of the district's tourist cafes have not discovered. The quiet garden courtyard with its monumental stone portal is the calmest place inside the Planty ring to park a tired dog after the castle walk.
Czyżyk, Czyżyny
Out east on the Avia estate, this bakery-cafe is the neighborhood's living room, and the neighborhood has dogs. Fresh water always down, treats behind the counter, bread and pastries baked on site and specialty coffee that would hold its own in the center. Worth knowing if your Krakow includes the Aviation Museum or a run in Park Lotników, both a short walk away.
Wesoła Cafe, behind the station
The specialty pioneer from our station coffee guide earns a second appearance for a different audience: dogs are welcome year-round, the water bowl is a fixture, and the big garden is one of the best places in central Krakow for a dog to spend a slow morning while you work through a pour-over and a homemade cake.
The dog owner's Krakow day
Morning walk on the Planty, coffee at Bruk while the city wakes up. Midday errand run past the Stary Kleparz market, then over to Krowodrza so the dog gets the Kleparski Park run and you both get Psikawka. If the afternoon calls for culture, Pianola's courtyard sits right on the Royal Road, and Lokator will sell you a book to read in it. Not one moment of the day requires leaving the dog at home, which is the whole point of this article.

More every year, but ask before you assume: plenty of places only tolerate dogs outside. The six above welcome them indoors, with evidence, which is why the list is six and not twenty.
What happened to Momo on Dietla?
Closed permanently in late 2025 after 25 years. It appears on many older dog-friendly lists; cross it off yours.
Where near the station can I stop with a dog?
Bruk Cafe on the Kleparz side, five minutes from the platforms, or Wesoła Cafe with its garden behind the station on Rakowicka.
Is there a dog park near any of these?
