Mlaskoty, the local food festival that has turned a neighbourhood market square in Zwierzyniec into one of the better Sundays in Krakow this year, has its next edition on Sunday 25 October 2026, from 11:00 to 17:00, on Plac Na Stawach. The date and hours come from the City of Kraków's autumn programme for its markets. Entry is free, there are no tickets and no table bookings: you turn up, walk the stalls and eat.

The format, from this year's earlier editions: around thirty small Krakow kitchens, coffee bars, bakers and producers on one square, run by a team that includes the food writer behind Kraków Food by Kati. The October line-up is not public yet; the organisers post it on their Instagram, @mlaskoty, shortly before the day. We will not guess at names. What we can tell you is who has cooked here before, and where to eat nearby on either side of it.

Who has cooked here before

The May edition brought more than thirty exhibitors: bakers Chleb&More, preserves from Przetwórnia, natural wine from Dzikie Wino, Salute, Oklahoma Burger and pierogi from Pierożki Babci Władzi, with the Kazimierz tapas bar Vamos as a guest and newcomers such as Zielna Bar Kawowy and Pistachio Box. The July edition added craftspeople, live cooking and family activities. Expect the same spirit in October: small, local and mostly owner-run, which is the point of the festival and the reason the queues are short.

How to do the Sunday

  1. Start with bread at Zaczyn

Zaczyn, the sourdough bakery on ul. Kościuszki 27, is in the same corner of the city and opens at 9:00 at weekends. Coffee and a cardamom bun, then walk over when the stalls open at eleven.

  2. Eat early, around noon

The first two hours are the calm ones. Graze: one savoury plate, one sweet, one coffee from a bar you have not tried.

  3. Walk it off on the Błonia

The meadow is a few minutes away, and the Kościuszko Mound beyond Salwator if you want the view.

  4. Dinner, if you booked

Restaurant Week runs until 25 November, and Zamęt on Stachowicza, in the premium tier, is in the same district.

Our take

The best food festivals in Krakow are the small Sunday ones on neighbourhood squares, and this is one of them.

It is free, local and easy, and it puts money into small kitchens rather than festival franchises. Come hungry at noon, not at four.
